Premiere: “it takes a lot to say you’re the only one that cared.” by BLUSHBOMB!

SILKENWOOD is a label that prides themselves as forward thinking, regardless of genre, and their release catalogue this year has pushed the boundaries of this claim to the ceiling.
The strength of SILKENWOOD is the emotion their music conveys, with songs from iroto, euphorian, abridges, and so many more showcasing the vulnerabilities in their sound, creating pieces of art that can only be tied to the label. The no-holds-barred approach the team coordinates across their entire catalogue is something that can’t help but leave you in pure awe.
The road doesn’t stop there, either; for their next trick, they will be presenting the debut of the new kids on the block, BLUSHBOMB!, a new multi-continental band with an abrasive direction in their sound that can only be described in one word: fresh.
To put it simply, their first song is a beautiful, distorted mess. The subject matter that artists Cyebug, Self Discovery and kori touch into is taken toward a desolate feeling that creeps on the back of your neck, keeping you hooked for the remainder of what may be one of SILKENWOOD’s most abrasive tracks yet.
Welcome to Azura Mitsuda’s first ever premiere. Today, we’re presenting “it takes a lot to say you’re the only one that cared.” by BLUSHBOMB!
What inspired “it takes a lot to say you’re the only one that cared.” to be your debut release?
Self Discovery: Initially, the first appearance of BLUSHBOMB! was going to be a song called “INTERNET.FRIENDS” on my album “UNTIL IT FEELS RIGHT!” It never really got finished and a few weeks later I pitched this song to wrensun, kori, and Cye. While not all the members of BLUSHBOMB! could work on it, we all agreed it was in a good place to release.
kori: Got invited to dis private server type of shit and they pitched the idea for the track; took me look a month or so to come up with an idea to extend it but i pulled an m83 on this bitch and put all my emotions into the outro and some additional lead synths. So in conclusion, it turned out to be our debut release due to the fact it was our first completed track.
The subject matter of this song seems to be very personal to you, what was it like creating such a vulnerable work?
Self Discovery: Well, it’s certainly far from the first time I’ve been vulnerable on a song. Every time it never fails to be a spur of the moment in writing. Anything I write ends up being a reflection of a real story from my life.
kori: Im cracking xfer ott rn
How do you reflect on this song, and what impact has it left on you since you finished it?
Self Discovery: I’ve never written anything like this before, so that on its own was a new experience. That on top of working with these other incredible people I’m glad to call friends was an absolutely incredible experience I’m so excited to have again and again going forward.
This is the strongest debut I’ve seen from a band in a long time. Where do you plan to go next?
Self Discovery: While I won’t give too much detail, our roster has certainly increased from where we started. Gaining talent from Chalbért and hco (aka voka), the upcoming projects are certainly ones unlike any other I’ve had the pleasure of working on.
kori: Dunno yet, these dudes need to send me more wips >:c
